The City of Moorhead is accepting applications for seasonal part-time and full-time temporary positions in the Engineering Department.

Seasonal Engineering Technician ($19.00 to $21.00)
Qualified individuals who shall assist in the oversight of City Engineering projects, assist in construction staking, perform a detailed collection of pertinent data as it relates to the installation of and placement of construction related items with an understanding of the means and methods of Civil Engineering construction projects for the City of Moorhead to ensure compliance with city standards and specifications. The position may read and interpret construction plans, inspect construction projects to determine compliance with the plans and specifications, interpret and apply project specifications, organize and record data, assist or perform survey construction staking with the use of Trimble GPS or Total Station, or complete other tasks as assigned. Experience in Civil Engineering construction projects, education in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Management is required. Experience with Trimble GPS or Total Station is also preferred but not required.

Ideal candidate would be able to start working before the end of May and work thru August at a minimum. Must be 18 and have valid driver's license. 
Hours: Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm 40 hours per week with required occasional overtime and occasional weekend work to meet construction deadlines.

The City provides temporary/seasonal employees Earned Sick and Safe Leave (ESST) according to MN Statute 181.9445 to 181.9448. Employees may also be eligible for Minnesota Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA) benefits per eligibility based on MN State Statute Chapter 353.
