The City of Moorhead is accepting applications for a Marketing Internship (Temporary Transit Marketing Assistant) working in the Public Transportation Department.
 

About Us

MATBUS is a public transportation system jointly operated by the City of Moorhead and the City of Fargo. The system consists of 21 fixed routes covering Moorhead, Dilworth, Fargo and West Fargo, as well as MAT Paratransit, a door-to-door service for people with disabilities.

Internship Description

We are looking for a marketing and communications intern to assist with a variety of projects and promotions, as well as rider outreach. This intern will participate in all aspects of a communications role within city government, and will finish the internship with practical and valuable experience for future roles.

Projects will include:

• Video development
• Social media management
• Website maintenance and management
• Advertising sales and management
• Marketing research and planning
• Public engagement at community events
• General administrative and operational support, including tasks outside the office environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Current or recent student within a collegiate-level marketing, communications, or public relations program
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Broad social media knowledge
• Ability to take direction and multi-task
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop/InDesign/Illustrator and the Microsoft Office Suite
• Video production experience
• Valid driver’s license

Pay and Schedule

This internship is a temporary seasonal position paying $14.00 per hour.

The schedule is flexible up to 32 hours a week, with flexible start and end dates. We will work with the chosen candidate to find the best schedule for them.
